UCNL students exhibit at prestigious Parliament event

Posted: 27 March 2026

We were so proud to once again have student representation at the annual Posters in Parliament initiative, held in the heart of UK Government.

Bringing together an outstanding collection of varied undergraduate research, students are provided with a platform to present their respective projects to MPs, Peers, decision makers and policy makers who are based in UK Parliament, with 28 institutions taking part in this year’s event.

The event is also supplemented with a variety of additional activities, including workshops, such as “Getting your Voice Heard at UK Parliament”, and tours of the House of Lords.

Exhibiting at the iconic Portcullis House, set in the Houses of Parliament, was a truly special and rewarding experience for our students. Their commitment to evoking positive societal change is undeniable, and this opportunity will only serve as a vehicle for enhancing respective passions.

Darryn Stamp, Director of School for Business, Teacher Training, Humanities and Social Sciences at DN Colleges Group, said: “Having been to the event last year, I am delighted that more DN Colleges Group students (and staff) have had the opportunity to experience such an amazing day this year!

“We are already planning our build up to next year and hope that this annual event continues to showcase the outstanding work of DNCG students amongst renowned Universities from up and down the country.”

Jessica Iyamu, Curriculum Leader for Science and Technology at DN Colleges Group, added: “This was a fantastic event for our students who had an enjoyable and informative day. The opportunity to present their posters to other researchers, MPs, policy makers and academics is unique and one that allows them to share their findings and develop their presentation and networking skills. Many thanks to the organisers for hosting the event, we look forward to returning next year!”

Sam Hewson, a final-year BA (Hons) in Social Science student, produced a critical-theoretical analysis of governance regimes, electoral systems, and political affect.

He was proud to showcase his research in Parliament, and spoke of just what the opportunity meant to him personally.

Sam commented: “I am honoured to have been selected for this opportunity to stand alongside so many outstanding students from across the UK and to have represented DN Colleges Group.”

This incredible initiative will go a long way to inspiring our future and current student cohorts, and we were delighted to participate for a second successive year.
