UCNL signs Goodwin Healthcare’s Safe Place Pledge

Posted: 28 May 2026

The University Campus North Lincolnshire is proud to announce that it has partnered with Goodwin Healthcare Services, to become a designated Safe Place for its carers.

Based in Scunthorpe and with over 60 years’ experience in Local Authority and healthcare in the assessment and provision of social care, Goodwin Healthcare is a family run company, and prides itself on offering high-quality staffing needs and care provision in an individual’s own home.

By signing the Safe Place Pledge, we are formally joining a network of trusted local partners who provide kindness, respect and a sense of belonging to those working tirelessly in care.

The values of the Safe Place Pledge include:

  • Kindness: Treating carers with warmth and consideration.
  • Respect: Honouring their time, work, and personal circumstances.
  • Support: Offering a welcoming space for rest, refreshment, and a listening ear if needed.
  • Community: Helping to build a connected network of organisations that value the wellbeing of carers.

Spending long hours in the community, helping vulnerable individuals, it’s essential that carers have a welcoming environment where they can rest, enjoy a warm drink, or even seek a little support during their day.

Gail Button, Head of Strategic Partnerships and Engagement at Goodwin Healthcare Services, said: “We are delighted that the University Campus North Lincolnshire has signed the Goodwin Healthcare Safe Place Pledge.

“Goodwin Healthcare launched the Safe Place Pledge in recognition of the pressures experienced by our carers. Many of our carers spend long hours in the community supporting vulnerable individuals, and at times, they need a welcoming space to rest, enjoy a warm drink, or seek a little support during their day.

“By offering a safe and friendly environment, UCNL are playing a vital role in helping us care for those who care for others. Even a small gesture – such as providing access to a comfortable area and a cup of tea or coffee – can make a significant difference to our carers’ wellbeing.”
