HND in Hospitality Management – Conversion

This programme provides a progression route for students who have completed a Higher National Certificate (HNC) Hospitality Management (Level 4) and achieved the pass criteria across all modules. The programme is linked to professional standards and through engagement in an innovative and exciting learning experience, students will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience which can be used to gain employment within the hospitality sector or set up their own business.

Students will develop knowledge, understanding and skills in the field of Hospitality Management and the programme will provide opportunities for students to gain a nationally recognised vocational qualification which could help to gain employment in the hospitality sector.

The programme is studied over 2 days a week for full time students.

This is an exciting programme which is designed to be engaging, informative and challenging. Assessments will be in various forms, examples include writing reports or essays, recording an interview or role play, examinations or in-class tests, delivering presentations, creating academic posters or portfolios, displays or leaflets or creating a reflective journal.

You will be required to have completed the HNC Hospitality Management qualification, with a minimum of a Pass achievement on all modules You will normally also be required to have achieved the BTEC National Certificate or Diploma or A Level or NVQ level 3 qualification in a relevant subject area. Mature students, especially those having relevant practical experience or other qualifications may also be considered on an individual basis, subject to an interview with an appropriate member of the teaching team or Programme Leader.

This programme can prepare students for employment at junior management and/or supervisory level in the hospitality sector and it may also support individuals in accessing graduate training schemes within the sector. If a student has an aspiration to set up their own business, you will gain the skills and expertise to do this also.
